The Future Path Service is designed for situations where a redundant employee’s work capacity has diminished and the employer wants to ensure that the individual receives the best possible support in returning to employment. At the same time, the employer gains better management of pension-related risks and the responsibilities that come with being someone’s last employer.

If it is known that some of those facing redundancy have partial work capacity, this should be discussed with the transition support partner as early as possible. This allows individuals to be supported from the outset in a way that truly reflects their needs — leading to better outcomes for everyone involved.

It is also important, from a change management perspective, to communicate clearly to all staff that every person facing redundancy will be supported in the best possible way, with their individual situation taken into account.
